Bali is to host a one-week International Yoga Festival from March 3-10, 2009, Bali-India Foundation chairman Dr Somvir said.
He said the festival would involve hundreds of yoga instructors from various countries around the world.
"Themed Yoga for Peace and Health, such an international activity will be a follow up of Yoga Day program which has been intensified in the past two years," Somvir said.
He added that the whole series of activity would be held around Monument Perjuangan Rakyat Bali (Bali People,s Struggle Monument) a Niti Mandala Renon area in Denpasar.
Somvir said that during the one-week activity, the yoga instructors would actively give yoga courses which were good for health.
The yoga exercises are open to participants from other religious group who would like to maintain their health condition and to heal various diseases they suffer from through the exercises.
"During the festival, the yoga instructors from foreign countries will instruct and train the participants with patience," Somvir said, adding that the participants and instructors from other countries would also hold a series of meeting to discuss various matters related to yoga, worldwide development, and exchange information about the exercise.
